Unkept nails can cause pain in an animal’s nail bed and even realign the joints in their leg if not taken care of properly.

Available as a Stand-Alone Service
This service is included in all grooming packages for cats and dogs at Smoochie Pooch, but it may also be done as a stand-alone service without the purchase of a grooming package.
For walk-in visits, please allow 15-20 minutes to complete the nail trim.
Dog Nail Trims
Our process involves cutting pets’ nails with nail clippers if necessary and buffing with a Dremel.
Buffing is a more natural way of trimming your pet’s nails. This added step also makes it more difficult for the nails to split or crack, and it also softens and eliminates the nails’ sharp edges.
Cat Nail Trims
Nail clippers are used to trim off the tip of a cat’s nails and avoid the quick. Unlike our nail trimming service for dogs, we do not buff cat nails.

Call Before Stopping In
Please note that if it is toward the end of our work hours, you may want to call ahead to confirm we will be open for your walk-in service. Aside from nail trims, our groomers work by appointment only, and they are permitted to leave and close the salon after their last appointment for the day.
Why Should I Cut My Dog's Nails?
Neglected dog nails can lead to paw pad damage, loss of traction, injuries, infections, and damage to joints and tendons.
Dogs should have their nails clipped and filed regularly, typically every 4-6 weeks.
